Yeah...it was the slavery part that turned me off. After reading #Wench then #Freeman, I needed a long respite from slavery era novels. I loved both of those books but my mental had been worn down by the detail of those books.

@londyjamel That first one of course is Sherman Alexie. Underneath is Marilyn Nelson for a joint book she did with Elizabeth Alexander called Miss Crandall's School for Young Ladies and Little Misses of Color. The one on the bottom is 32 Candles by Ernessa T. Carter.
