I was so excited today to prepare food for our picnic!! Then 15 celcius without sun said: uh-ah not today, Soph!
So instead of sitting on our mat in the grass, we found an empty table instead! I laid out all our food, and bought hot choc soy milk at a small cafe.
I did not do anything to deserve this. I am just ready to receive and give everyday. Thank YOU!

Poached free range organic eggs from uncaged chicken in my tomato sauce with LOADS of kale+broccolini. Yes.. Your kids can still eat #plantbased with carefully chosen animal protein, that we do NOT need much off! For a #vegan version, you can always use TOFU. And their mama? Can still enjoy her plantbased ways 😃😃 This is how i feed my family. I love that i can ask the farmer here how they're chickens were fed and loved.

I had already made a big batch of granola a week ago and so i sprinkled it on their french toast for breakfast. #GF bread dipped in almond milk +chia egg. This is my version of a perfect food combination for a busy day. Kids need some complex carbs that don't release as quickly as the sugar from the fruits. Plus some avocado fat to help them keep warm here.

My kids do not eat dairy. It's a looong story. And I do not want anybody to get the wrong idea here. Eating dairy DOES NOT make one a bad person. And this post is not about judging anyone's food choices. In our family's case, it's just a very long story.We just don't eat dairy. And cheese and cream, etc etc.
But today, I found someone at the farmer's market who made Halloumi cheese from goat's cheese. So, we decided to give it a try, after chatting with the farmer.
Yes, yes, i've read somewhere that goat's cheese is better than cow's, and while I'm not going to give my opinion on that, i'm just going to say that my boys are growing and there is no reason to forbid them to know the variety of foods in the world, BUT, one thing i know for sure is that I will keep training them to KNOW where their food comes from, WHO made them and HOW it was made.
So here's what I made for their dinner. Garlicky arugula with roasted potatoes+pumpkin,carrot sticks, free range happy chicken eggs and Halloumi cheese fried in coconut oil.
The chickens and goats were healthy and happy. Not caged and fed well.
